Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Fox Lake, Harvard, Huntley, Hebron, Island Lake, Johnsburg, Lake In The Hills, Lakemoor, Marengo, McCullom Lake, Ringwood, Richmond, Spring Grove, Wonder Lake, and Woodstock are all well developing cities located in McHenry County. Each city having it’s own distinct way of having a variety of housing choices and different living atmosphere. There is a wide range of golf courses, country clubs, Lakes, beaches, parks and a river that provides entertainment and fun for the whole family throughout the year. Also McHenry County has it’s own community college along with a variety of schooling choices from private to public.  It holds a population of about 183,241 people and it has 18 major cities. McHenry County is located west of Lake County, north of Dekalb County, east of Boone County and lies on the border of Wisconsin. Rt. 14, Rt. 120, Rt. 176, Rt. 31, Rt. 120, Rt. 47, Rt. 20, Rt. 22, and Rt 12 are all major highways that lead in and out of this county. Almost all of these highways have access to Interstate 90 and 94, which leads to Chicago, about 45 minute drive depending on traffic. Besides driving, there is access to the METRO in almost every city in this county. Also there are PACE busses available and other commuter busses in certain cities.
